About FPD/AHPE

The FPD/AHPE is an affiliate of the National Union of Hospital and Health Care Employees (NUHHCE), the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the AFL-CIO. Our 20 year history shows our dedication to providing a strong and effective voice for professionals, in both the private and public sectors, in their efforts to obtain adequate compensation and improve their working conditions. We make sure our members are heard by legislative and congressional bodies about improvements to job security, wage benefits, decision-making roles, patient safety and much more. We strive to represent, protect, maintain and advance the interests of our members, ultimately raising the standards of service provided by healthcare professionals, and many other types of private and public sector professionals.

As an affiliate of the AFL-CIO, the FPD/AHPE, joins with 56 other unions to fight together for the rights of working people throughout the United States. Our voices become part of a movement that is more than 10.5 million members strong.
