PATCO/AFSCMENEWS & UPDATES________________________________________________________________________________ PATCO/AFSCME welcomes the Weather Observers employed by Weather One at Knoxville, TN. The Weather Observers are immediately covered by the Master Agreement and negotiations on economics will be taking place shortly. In the very near future PATCO/AFSCME will represent over one hundred weather sites throughout the contiguous United States, Alaska and Puerto Rico. _________________________________________________________________________ The dust is beginning to settle on the Weather Observer Contractor Awards, and PATCO/AFSCME has been working diligently in order to ensure that all of its members receive appropriate negotiated compensation and benefits from any new contractor. To date all of the contractors have been reasonable, accommodating and understanding in regard to honoring the terms of any predecessor collective bargaining agreement and in negotiating a successor collective bargaining agreement that, for the most mirrors the old agreement or is an improved agreement.
