FPD represents Private Practice physicians by representing their individual interests in their day to day operations. FPD also retains anti-trust attorney's so it can respond to physician concerns while remaining within the "safe harbors" dictated by the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice.

Policies adopted by the FPD seek to re-empower doctors to establish and to maintain high standards of patient care. This necessitates seeking Constitutional objectives through public awareness, pro-active litigation, and vigorous lobbying.

Collective bargaining is provided to Public Sector physicians, managers and supervisors and attorneys and to the member divisions of the AHPE ( Public Employees Union and the Professional Managers and Supervisors). A package of benefits is available to all members both through FPD itself and through its affiliates.
